Ophthalmology Surgical Monitor

Modern corneal surgery involves precise control of a femtosecond laser to achieve the best possible corneal correction with minimal intervention. An innovative femtosecond laser system combines perfectly aligned components and offers the highest level of cutting precision, efficiency, and patient comfort. This technology is essential to ensure the best patient recovery with a low risk of infection, epithelial waxing, and flap complications.

The Canvys team began working with the eye laser system manufacturer from the inception of the project. A laser system typically takes up to five years to complete the design, system specifications, and prototypes and secure worldwide regulatory approvals. Our team of engineers worked closely with the company to design-in monitors that operated seamlessly with the surgical unit.

A femtosecond laser system usually requires two different displays. Our team designed a monitor for treatment with the highest possible video resolution and brightness, the widest viewing angle, and the best contrast values. This enables a high-quality video image for the surgeon to optimize control during the automated procedure. Our team added multi-touch capabilities using PCAP touch technology that provides system control, allowing operation with surgical gloves and bringing additional functionality through gesture control.

The Canvys team recommended large screen monitors for planning or observation. The display solution included a user-friendly touchscreen interface that enables efficient workflows, patient data viewing, documentation, and doctor-defined planning views. Other medical devices are also easily accessed and controlled from this monitor.

The Canvys display solutions featured integrated protective glass with different anti-reflective options reduces reflections on the display's surface and allows for proper cleaning of the monitor with disinfectants. The ergonomic design of the displays with integrated cable cover allows for easy installation on existing support arms in the operating room via a standard VESA interface.

Canvys also accommodates customer-specific requirements such as a boot logo, a back-printed customer logo on the protective glass or touchscreen, and specific requirements for the material, texture, or color of the plastic housing.
